After retiring from a career in marketing and database / web site design, I discovered the free MusicScore composition program and started composing in 2015 - something I have wanted to do since elementary school (we won't get into "for my father's generation, music was for girls").

Relevant Experience:   Life long love of opera as well as other forms of theatre and music, esp. punk/alternative rock, symphony and chamber music.  

 

My second opera, THE PASSION OF LT. DE SEZIGNEY, was chosen by NANOworks of Atlanta, Ga. to be premiered this August.  Worked with director Stephanie Havey on revisions.  Due to CoronaVirus, performance was cancelled.

    

Favorite operas:  DIE MEISTERSINGER (Wagner), NOZZE DI FIGARO (Mozart) and, this week, THE SNOW QUEEN (Hans Abrahamson). 
   

Favorite albums:   PORGY AND BESS excerpts with Leontyne Price, KIND OF BLUE by Miles Davis, ZEN ARCADE by Husker Du, CRAZY RHYTHMS by  The Feelies

Volunteered at WOLF TRAP OPERA.  Organized and maintain library of scores and audio materials. Have made presentations for studio artists on singers and recordings of the past.

Voluntarily worked with Robert Wood of URBAN ARIAS to raise funding for world premiere cast recording of Greg Spears / Kathryn Walat's PAUL'S CASE.  Attended recording sessions August 2018.  Recording released January 2019.
